Ho Chi Minh

It's the economic capital of Vietnam with its 7.5 million inhabitants, it was known as Saigon before 1975 with 95 years of French influence, its battle against the Americans and its resistance to Northern bureaucracy, Ho Chi Minh City has become very dynamic.

It has several monuments and places to visit: the Opera House, the Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Reunification Palace, Chinatown, museums and theaters.

Ho Chi Minh City is a good starting point for excursions to the Mekong Delta or nearby beaches such as Phan Thiet (Mui Ne), Vung Tau, Long Hai, Con Dao Island and Phu Quoc Island. The climate is hot and humid with an average annual temperature of 27º. The warmer and quieter months are April and December. Some monsoon between May and October, but nothing prevents you getting your feet wet, the experience is very nice!

Ho Chi Minh City is divided into 19 districts and 5 areas. In the morning, the streets come alive with markets, small restaurants and hairdressers who settle in the streets. The best way to discover Ho Chi Minh City is to walk its streets and enjoy culinary delights in the small restaurant type "bui -bui" and walking in the parks to see all these people doing the traditional exercises. An atmosphere full of life!

- The Post Office
It was built in 1886. It’s a place full of life and history. Enjoy the charm and architecture of the colonial era. Two paintings are on the walls representing Saigon now called Ho Chi Minh City and telegraph lines in Vietnam and Cambodia at the time. Admire the colonial style and the metal frame that was created by Gustave Eiffel.
 
- The Notre Dame Cathedral
A building dating from the colonial era, it will remind you of Notre Dame de Paris. It was built in 1877 by the governor of the Cochinchina. It’s a place of worship and a landmark to show the French power.


- The Reunification Palace
The Reunification Palace Thong Nhat Dinh is one of the most famous of the cities historical past monuments. It was built in 1873 by King Norodom of Cambodia was the first governor and the governor of the Cochinchina French Indochina. In 1962, the palace was completely rebuilt after a bombing.
 
- The War Museum
It tells various episodes lived by Vietnam. You can see an exhibition with hundreds of pictures of the conflict between North and South.

- Chinatown Square
You will not be disappointed by the atmosphere of Cho Lon that means "big market". Located in Districts 5 and 6, It became the heart of the business of the city. Cho Lon is very famous for its market Binh Tay considered a masterpiece of Chinese architecture. You'll find everything in its narrow streets, the things most common to the traditional products such as alcohol snake. Nearby, you can also explore the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda that is said to be the most majestic of the city.
 
- The Thien Hau Pagoda
Richly decorated with carved wood, it’s considered the most beautiful pagoda in the city. Located in Chinatown Cho Lon, Thien Hau Pagoda is also called "the Heavenly Lady Pagoda. It was built by the congregation of Canton in the XIX century in honor of Thien Hau.

 

** The Safari Vietnamese
 
The Cat Tien National Park covers 72.000 hectares on the top of Bao Loc, 160 km North-East of Ho Chi Minh. This is a rare beauty with flora and fauna, swamp forests and grasslands. Discover the park with its variety of plants, birds, mammals, reptiles, freshwater fish and butterflies. Many other mammals are found in this park: primates such as gibbons, bears, elephants and gaur also called buffalo of India.

The best time to visit the national park of Cat Tien is from October to May, during the dry season. It’s during the night than all the wealth of the park are moving, especially mammals that are not visible by day.
